Homa Bay Court Suspended For 14 Days After Staff Members Tested Postive For COVID-19

The Judiciary in Homa Bay has discontinued hearing sittings for the next 14 days after three staff members tested positive for Corona virus. The premises are being fumigated.

Two members from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Homabay town while the other staff is from Dhiwa law court. All the three are said to be receiving home-based care.

It is said only urgent and serious case will be heard in-person in the open air. The other cases will be held virtually during the period.

Senior Principal magistrate, Thomas Obutu claimed they have slowed operations to minimize the spread of the virus further.

He also stated testing and fumigation will be done frequently

“We would like to resume work after two weeks but it will depend on the advice  from the Ministry of Health,” said Obutu.
