The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Joint Operations Centre, William Sing’oei has died.
Sing’oei was found dead in his house at the Embakasi Military Barracks on Wednesday morning, May 12.
Augustine Nthumbi, Nairobi Regional Police Commander, confirmed the incident saying his juniors had been trying to reach him on phone since Tuesday but had been unsuccessful.
They later went to his house, broke the door and found his lifeless body on the bed. The cause of death was not immediately known.
Police said a postmortem will be conducted. His body has been taken to the mortuary.
Singoei had been transferred from GSU to Kenya Wildlife Service, where he served as a liaison officer for three years before being transferred to police headquarters.
He was later seconded to the coronavirus team last year.
