Kapsaeret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi, has finally been set free after the High Court in Nakuru granted him a sh 500,000 cash bail or sh 1 million bond.

According to Judge Joel Ngugi, reasons issued by the prosecution to hold him for 7 more days did not meet the threshold.

The lawmaker was also barred from attending and addressing public rallies or even making statements until his case is heard and determined.

His release comes a day after the court ordered the politician to be detained for 7 more days to allow police officers complete their investigations.

This prompted a debate with activists and LSK stating it was wrong to hold the MP in custody for more days and a violation of his rights.

LSK President Nelson Havi demanded the lawmaker face trial for his uncalled for utterances and his hearing application was set for on Friday September 18.
