Kenya Power Employees Chased Away by Umoja Residents While Tempting to Terminate Power

Kenya power has been enjoying the monopoly of being the only distribution power company in Kenya for quite some time.

In Umoja estate today, 2 employees of Kenya power and lighting company carrying their day to day duty of installing and terminating installation were almost lynched by the residents. It’s alleged that the two were bribed not to cut the power but couldn’t keep on to the agreement initially stipulated and opted to terminate power from the pole. They had a narrow escape and fled for their lives as angry residents were after them.

Coronavirus being the enemy to battle with, pleas by the President initially not harass residents unable to pay their power bills and other bills in time were not adhered to and Kenya power officials vow to look into the matter regarding today’s event.
