Just after surviving impeachment previously tabled by Kirinyaga members of the county assembly, Anne Waiguru suffered a blow after the county assembly on Wednesday rejected her memorandum by blocking her 2020/2021 Ksh.5.6 billion budget.
The governor tried to convince her members of the county assembly to reconsider their decisions for putting in mind the needs of Kirinyaga residents.
A whopping 25 out of the 35 members of the county assembly rejected her memorandum.
Waiguru, in her memorandum, said she cannot approve amendments done to the budget because the Assembly slashed over Ksh 300 million meant to pay salaries for health workers and moved it to the construction of ward offices.
Currently, the MCAs are on the verge of collecting signatures to dismantle the county government of Kirinyaga.
