Nakuru London MCA, Sammy Mbugua has passed away
On Wednesday evening, November 18, Sammy Mbugua succumbed to covid-19 related complications. Mbugua’s death comes days after his counterpart in Hell’s Gate, John Njuguna, died of the deadly virus.
Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui eulogized Sammy Mbugua as an honest and hard-working leader who has shown tremendous zeal to solve the problems of his constituents.
“Sammy had a unique responsibility of representing a highly multi-ethnic ward, which gave him a broader and more balanced political approach,”
“At this difficult moment of sorrow, our hearts and prayers go to his family, friends and constituents,” the governor wrote on Facebook.
The Nakuru County Assembly was closed on 2 November 2020 following an increase in the number of COVID-19 infections in the county.
The County Speaker, Joel Kairu, advised the Ward Members to undergo the COVID 19 assessments prior to the reinstatement of the physical meetings.
