National Transport Safety Authority Introduces Strict Measures To Enhance Road Safety

On Tuesday, 22 December 2020,  NTSA in a joint statement with the National Police Service urged members of the public to comply with traffic laws in order to prevent accidents during the festive season.

The National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA) has improved security measures to make sure road safety as Kenyans usher in the festive season.

“As the Agencies mandated with the responsibilities related to the enforcement on the Traffic Act and Road Safety Management, we acknowledge the devastating effects of road traffic damage in our country.

“Analysis of the crashes continue to point at common road traffic offences such as drinking and driving, overloading, speeding, driver fatigue, use of unroadworthy vehicles, dangerous overtaking, lack of proper discipline, freewheeling among other human controllable factors,” read the statement.

NTSA announced that they would increase the number of highway and air patrols in order to ensure compliance with traffic rules and to ensure that other strict measures monitoring drivers would be used to ensure compliance with various laws and regulations.
