Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has called out Deputy President William Ruto for failure to provide effective leadership and lack of stand on the proposed Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) referendum.
Through a tweet, Mudavadi said Ruto has been taking Kenyans in circles, yet the BBI referendum has timelines that should be respected and the country needs to make a decision and move on.
He noted that it is important to have a consensus on the BBI, but the DP needs to look at the timelines set for the BBI referendum.
“Building consensus is key, but time is of the essence. The BBI has timelines that should be adhered to for the country to have a say and move on. As a leader, taking Kenyans in circles without a clear position amounts to a failure to provide effective leadership,” Mudavadi tweeted.
Mudavadi’s words came shortly after DP Ruto hosted a number of leaders at his Karen residence on Wednesday, and later spoke to the press, outlining a number of issues he wants resolved before the country heads to a referendum.
