The late ex Changmwe MP Kajembe’s children are demanding an apology from the Health CS Mutahi over statements made during a COVID-19 daily briefing on 9 August.
They have threatened to sue himif he fails to issue an apology. On Sunday the CS had revealed a scenario where a son refused to isolate after testing positive for corona hence ended up infecting the entire family.
“He refused to self isolate which led to the infection of his sister and parent. Unlike him they are and as usual with underlying conditions so they were impacted more. As we speak this family has lost one elderly member….,”Kagwe said.
The statement seemed to have angered the family terming it a form of stigmatization. The family acknowledged their parents died of COVID-19 but they should have been accorded respect.
“It is unfortunate that a whole cabinet secretary can come out abd issue a mere statement that a young man brought Corona virus brought to his his parents. We are urging the CS to withdraw the Sentiments against my family,”one of Kajembe’s son said.
They further retaliated on how they were not pleased on Governor Sonko echoing the same.
