Two pastors are facing robbery with violence charges after reportedly stealing Ksh370,000 from their landlord and a Sh25,000 valued wristwatch.

The pastors reportedly committed the crime after a dispute over rent after the landlord had leased them a piece of land that supposedly had not been his property for a year.

Benson Muiruri Mucheru of the Encounter Chapel House and Joseph Zacharia Iyadi of the African Transformers Youth Association are suspected of mugging Geoffrey Ngatia Njoroge of valuables inside his residence in Karen, Nairobi.

The supposed fracas was said to have occurred within the Njoroge’s compound, which shares land with the two churches and their home.

The churches were issued with a notice of arrears for rent of 12 months by an agency claiming possession of the land.

Upon finding out that they had been  paying rent to the wrong guy, the enraged priests took the matter into their own hands.
