Uhuru Calls Urgent Meeting After Covid-19 Deaths Rise

President Uhuru Kenyatta has scheduled the Sixth Extraordinary Session of the National and County Governments Coordinating Summit.

According to communication obtained by Kanze Dena, the State House Spokesperson, the meeting will take place on Wednesday, 4 November 2020.

As of October 27, the rate of positivity was 20.5%, from 4.4% in September when President Kenyatta opened up more sectors of the economy. Over the month of October, Kenya recorded 12,304 more Covid-19 cases.

The November meeting shall consider the evolution of the disease as well as the strategies on how to control the spread of Covid-19 within the country over the months of November and December 2020.

The Session shall also review the effectiveness of the control measures in place and the impact of the removal of the restrictions in place. President Kenyatta urged on all Kenyans to keep applying simple but effective individual and collective measures.
