Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has denied claims that he plans to resign to vie for the Nairobi governor’s seat.

The Jubilee legislator was responding to claims that he was seeking the mandate of Nairobians on a People’s Empowerment Party ticket.

Former MPs, Dennis Waweru (Dagoretti South), Margaret Wanjiru (Starehe), Peter Kenneth (Gatanga) and ex-Kiambu governor William Kabogo are also said to be interested in taking over the Governor’s seat.

Lawyer Miguna Miguna, who was a gubernatorial candidate in the last general election, also declared his candidacy.

“Having received competent legal advice from @waikwawanyoike on December 19, I, Miguna Miguna, a Kenyan citizen by birth and registered voter in Nairobi, hereby declare my candidature for the position of governor of Nairobi in the upcoming by-election. Volunteers are welcomed,” Miguna Miguna tweeted.
